Serving North Texas

Helping develop and support the abilities of persons with special needs since 1993

Our MISSION is to provide the highest quality care, training and support to adults with special needs, giving them opportunities to succeed in life, family and the community, while offering respite to their caregivers.

We are proudly the only licensed Adult Daycare Program in Denton County and surrounding areas serving aging persons with Alzheimer’s, and one of very few licensed Day Habilitation Programs for persons with developmental disabilities that is a charitable nonprofit.

These facts and many more affect the 56 million Americans living with disability, a substantial portion of the population.

Volunteer now and join in our new Reading Program!

We are excited to introduce our reading program and provide volunteer opportunities to come and read with our students and clients with special needs!   Every one of these individuals have a level of need for reading, writing and other continuing education.   You can help, either working with individuals and groups in a classroom setting to read to them, or listen and support them in their own reading skills and comprehension.   All volunteers will need to complete a volunteer registration HERE.   Once you have registered with us as a volunteer, CLICK HERE to sign up for our Reading Program!

NEW!  Special Abilities of North Texas introduces Special Snacks Dog Treats!

These are produced, packaged, and marketed by individuals with developmental disabilities and special needs at our Training Centers.  Dog Treats are available for purchase and proceeds go toward continued vocational training, job coaching and other employment opportunities for our students and clients.  For more information, CLICK HERE.
