Special Abilities of North Texas is a registered 501(c) 3 charitable non profit organization that operates training centers in North Texas providing programs in education/academics, vocational training/job coaching, health/fitness/nutrition, independent living skills, and community inclusion for persons with special needs.    We rely significantly upon the support from community and private donors. Our MISSION is to provide the highest quality care, training and support to adults with special needs, giving them opportunities to succeed in life, family and the community, while offering respite to their caregivers.

We are proudly the only licensed Adult Daycare Program in Denton County and surrounding areas serving aging persons with Alzheimer’s, and one of very few licensed Day Habilitation Programs for persons with developmental disabilities that is a charitable nonprofit.

night_outCAREGIVERS NIGHT OUT

Program:  The purpose of our monthly evening activities and social club is to: 1) Provide a social event furthering friendships, social skills, and enjoy a variety of Inclusion activities, 2) Provide much needed Respite Care during occasional evenings for parents, families and caregivers, 3) Serve as an introductory program for further Independent Living Skills development. NIGHT OUT’s will be at our Lewisville campus, often include volunteers and community, and designed/led by our staff and instructors. These events are open to any and all persons with special needs, not just those enrolled currently with Special Abilities of North Texas.

COME JOIN THE FUN, EXCITEMENT AND ACTION AT OUR Summer Camp for persons with special needs!

  • Monday-Friday 7:30 am – 5:30 pm JUNE 10-AUG 23 (Flexible days available)

  • Camp ages 15 and up (Middle school ages also based on availability)

  • Includes: Daily activities & events in our 5 key areas of programming

* Academics * Independent Living Skills * Community Inclusion & Events * Pre-vocational training * Health, Recreation and Fitness

Special Abilities of North Texas is a leader in providing care, training, support and life change for persons with special needs including Autism, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, non ambulatory and other intellectual/physical special needs. As a community based local charitable nonprofit, we have been changing lives for over 22 years!

Students/Clients with special needs will engage daily with the highest quality staff and interact with peers in a friendly and exciting environment. Activities include trips on our new bus to museums, parks, sporting events, art galleries, aquariums, plant nurseries, Lewisville Lake, zoo’s, an airplane hangar, festivals, theater, libraries, shopping, horse therapy, music therapy, and more! Our Special Education teaching staff provide continuing education and academic skills. Our experienced professional Program staff teach and provide activities in fitness, sports, art, theater, gardening, music, vocational training, Special Olympics, and independent living skills. Our Full time nursing staff are hands on to help take care of any health, medical, feeding, and medication needs your student may have.

  • Full Week Program $180/ week Part time program $105 per week

  • Monday-Friday June 10- Aug 23rd 9am – 3pm flex days per week

  • Before and After care also available for additional cost, 7:30am -9am and 3pm-5:30pm M-F (Lewisville campus)

  • Occasional Caregivers Night Out also available on weekends.

  • Two locations – Lewisville and Flower Mound

Families provide: Lunch, and 2 snacks. Reservations for vacation can be held by paying ½ tuition for the weeks you are away.
